PRAY THAT…..
1. The congregation of English adults and youths will be very clear about the kind of disciple that we want to build: Evangelism and Missions (World), the Work of the Spirit (Revival), Prayer (Prayer), Discipleship in community (Fellowship), and will desire to work together in unity on making such disciples.
2. The evangelistic awareness and action program by Bill Hybels, which is called, JUST WALK ACROSS THE ROOM, will be a great impetus in the church for winning the lost to Christ, and inculcating in members the approach of friendship evangelism.
3. The Alpha Course that will be run in March to May will again see many souls saved for the kingdom of God.
4. For Pastor Newman and his family, and Stephen Tay as they close on chapter in their life and open a new one.
5. For the spate of fire bombings of Malaysian churches to cease and for the high court ruling enforcing the use of Allah in the Alkitab Bible and church services.

We will lead new people through a process of five stages: 1) WINNING; 2) ASSIMILATING 3) BUILDING 4) EQUIPPING 5) SENDING. These are the different stages most people will go through in their spiritual growth in the church.
We WIN them by various programs like Alpha course or simply inviting them to church or to cell groups or even by sharing Christ with them in the office or school. Once they are won, ASSIMILATION is the next stage. We help them into baptism and establish them in the faith through follow up and help them to feel at home in the church and cell group as members. The third stage is where they grow in grace and in the knowledge of God through Sunday services, cell participation and Christian courses. this is the BUILDING stage. The fourth stage is that of EQUIPPING them with ministry skills such as evangelism, follow up, how to lead a cell group, how to serve in church, etc. The final stage of SENDING is when he or she who was invited is engaged in inviting others to Christ, in community service, or missions or some other ministry of reaching out to non-believers, thereby completing the cycle.
We also want to identify where people have fallen through the cracks or gaps between the stages and how we can help more people move through all the stages. For example, in 2010 we will be concentrating on following up guests and visitors that are invited to the sunday services. We want to do a thorough follow up of these precious people who have visited us. All this entails a great deal of attention to details, of data collection, and of stamina and motivation. Let us pray the Lord’s grace will see us through the implementation and sustenance of the work.

THANK GOD…
The prayer for church administrator has been answered and we have found one! Praise the Lord. That the economy in Singapore is mending quickly.
PRAY FOR….
1. HOPE cell outreach/harvest:
a) for loved ones and friends to be positive and responsive during Christmas to attend the cell harvest event and to received Christ as Savior.
b) that the cells will be prepared and in expectancy of faith to see what God will do when they act in faith and obedience to the great commission.
c) that the spiritual forces of evil will cease all operations against the salvation of lost and precious souls and cell cohesion and unity.
2. For the recruitment of Children’s pastor for the Good News Kids. We have tried Malaysian contacts, Singaporean contacts, and not a single application has arrived. Pray the Lord of the harvest will send a labourer to us.
3. For all the pastors and missionaries as they go through changes and transitions in their lives and do the detailed planning resulting from the consultancy and strategic planning retreat at Batam. Pray especially for Pastor Newman and family as they move on into a new chapter in his life, and for Stephen Tay as he process his term in Turkey and seek the Lord about the future.
4. For all the families and folks to be blessed in their “going out and coming in” during the vacation period. That family ties will be strengthened and deepened and tired minds and bodies refreshed.
5. For Simon and Rinda in their retreat ministry in Chiangmai, usually one of their busier periods, that the Lord will meet with many of the retreatants “face to face”.
6. For Judith Chia and the GNK core group, as she takes over the leadership from Salome Wong.
7. For the Board of Elders who have completed half the year of service. Another six months of serving and loving and leading God’s people. Pray especially for the President Alvin Lim.
8. For the Worship Ministry: the musicians, the worship leaders and singers, the AV helpers. That the Lord will refresh the teams and they will serve with faith, skill, zeal and love for the Lord.
9. For the pastors and leaders of ministry as they plan ministry for the year and implement a new budgetting process: zero and narrative budgetting process.
