Retirement lunch
We held a farewell lunch with Pat Ho, 62 on Tuesday. It has been 13 years since Pat joined the team as a church secretary. She was well received and loved by the congregation and worked with diligence, thoroughness and responsibility. Often she desplayed a willingness to put in the extra hours to get things done. She starts clearing her leave on Friday, 18th June until her retirement on 6th July 2010. She will have a well deserved rest, before she looks at different work and volunteer options.

Wild Rockets
We ate at Wild Rockets. The celebrity chef is Willie Low, a friend of Pastor Chua. Hidden at a quiet side of Mt Sophia, after St Margaret’s Primary School, this gem of a restaurant serves good quality stuff. Several adventurous pastors
ate escargot – euphemism for snails. It was a happy occasion and we enjoyed the food and the fellowship. We posed with the celebrity chef and went back satisfied without any sense of feeling bloated.
If you have words of appreciation and blessing for Pat please do so by clicking the word “0 comment” on the top right hand of the post. Thanks.

The church camp at Glenmarie Holiday Inn was a success. The speaker was Rev Steven Teo for the main sessions and Darius and Caleb were speakers for the children’s church. The theme was “Loving God, Touching Hearts” and the sessions took off with exciting ice breakers conducted by Donnie, and worship from the worship team. The messages immediately impacted people and many responded to the altar call and encouraging personal prophecies were received. The Holy Spirit touched and revived many.

We had a balanced program of four messages, free afternoons, a whole afternoon and night for people to shop at One Utama shopping center in Petaling Jaya, and a concluding holy communion and small group sharing and prayer for one another.

The facilities and food at the hotel was good and the program balanced and people were blessed by the ministry of the Word and prayer. The men had their golf and gyms and the women and youths had their shopping and movies. We thank God for great organizing team led by Peter Lim.It was a great camp and we look forward to the next one in Equatorial Bangi Kuala Lumpur next year!

It started with when Sunny Chong attended the MLM and Pastor Alvin was the trainer. The pastor expressed his passion for badminton which he played every Sunday without fail with his Eternal Life Assembly members. He invited the Sunny’s interest group (mixture of pre-believers and church cell members of the West) to play a friendly game with them. This friendly was a good start to show pre-believers that Christianity is also fun and giving.

As for the report of the night’s game, we lost 5, won 4 and drew 1. In conclusion, we lost. Out of the 4 wins, they were won by Marcus (3 games, our star player of the night) and Annie Chong. Without these two players, we would have been relegated to Division 2. We will be challenging them with a return match 3 months later. Sports is a good way to share the love of God as well as to fellowship with other churches.
