Pastor Barnabas Phua graduated from Christ for the Nations Bible College in Dallas, Texas (USA) in 1984. He obtained his ordination license from the Church on the Rock, Rockwell, Texas (USA) in 1985. In 1986, he was ordained by WRPF’s Board of Elders as a deaf pastor.

Pastor Barnabas Phua pioneered the deaf ministry since October 1981 and officially became DFF’s pastor in 1993.

Pastor Barnabas’ vision is to reach-out to the deaf- not only in Singapore but also to other countries in Asia. He has made several mission trips to Korea, Japan, Indonesian and Malaysia. He often receive invitations to preach in Kuala Lumpur and Penang (Malaysia), Jakarta and Medan (Indonesia).

Barnabas is married to Angela (deaf) and has 4 hearing children (Sarah, Grace, Samuel and Sean; ages 21, 18, 17 and 6 respectively).
