young adult cell groupWhat is a cell group?  The cell group is a group of Christians who meet together to encourage and strengthen one another’s faith, and to share the gospel together. They usually meet in a relaxed frame of mind in a home on a Friday night or a Saturday afternoon. The  people come from different backgrounds, races and nationalities. There are groups of different kinds: some are inter- generational; while others are of similar age brackets, for example, the young adults  or the mid-lifers.

In a typical cell meeting, they will start with an icebreaker, go on to sing to the Lord, share about their week, pray for one another, discuss the truths of the Bible and have some relaxed time of conversation over some light refreshments. The meeting is about one and a half or two hours, but people just love to linger. The cell groups meet for the first three weeks of each month only.

Most find that being part of a cell group gave them a sense of belonging and togetherness as they went through the ups and downs of life; helped them to grow in their faith and serve God together; kept them real and accountable;  and, gave them an extended family that accepted and loved them.

The cell groups are the main infrastructure of the church. The cell groups are to the church, what infrastructure is to a country: the communications, the industries, the financial district, the power and water supplies, the transportation systems, the education and health care services are all vital to the well being, prosperity and growth of the country.
