WRPF is a missional church. Revival is not for enjoyment but with a purpose of saving the world. We are blessed by God so that we can be a blessing to others. Even in times of financial squeeze, like the widow in the famine, we can still give to God’s work, and trust God to take care of us.
From the missions fund raised at the missions sunday, we will be sowing into several projects. Firstly, we will be sowing $7,000 dollars into Pastor John’s ministry. We have been working with John for several years now in
Yangon, and we want to move the partnership forward. The BOE have decided to help John buy land and build a facility for church worship and home. Our vision is that this church will grow into a mother of many church plants over the next decade.
Secondly, $30,000 will be equally shared between Myanmar Compassion Project, a organization that works to help about 200 orphanages, and are involved in the relief and development work needed because of the Nargis Cyclone; and the YWAM Myanmar, which are doing excellent work among villages in the disaster area. These two are trustworthy and above board organizations that will give us reports of how the money is utilized, so the BOE have decided to work with them. The Lord will be pleased with this concern for the poor expressed in a concrete way.
Thirdly, we will release another $3,000 for S. to make an additional trip to China so that this country can be reached through the 20/40 vision of targetting 20 strategic cities and 40 unreached people groups.
The total amount of $44,000 comes from the free will offerings raised during the mission sundays over and above the $23,000 that we asked for. As these gifts are designated for Myanmar, it has to be disposed accordingly, and in good conscience and integrity. We believe this usage is God-honoring, and vision driven and God will bless all who gave towards His work.
